In Italy, I ate pizza and gelato every day. I drank wine, Campari, and/or Prosecco for every dinner. I had multiple cappuccinos or macchiatos every day and always with sugar. I lost a pound and a half. Go figure.

When we spent a month in Umbria, just about everything, including Internet access, was credited to "The Umbrian winds"

I lost 10lbs when I was there for two weeks and I tripled my food intake. It's a magical land!

There is a God and he loves Italian food.

I'm going with Lisa: lots of walking!

it's all the walking! I was on a strict Gelato/Pasta/Spritz diet in Italy, people were like "you look fantastic". Nothing like a LOT OF WALKING, and relaxation to let your body reset (and lose weight).

We eat horribly processed and genetically altered food... Always come back from Europe well fed and thinner.. Lol

It's the love diet. Just love what you eat and yourself and stress and self loathing don't stick around to mock you later.

Same thing happening to me and Tim as we live in Milan for the next year. We went from never touching bread or pasta in the US for years to a daily diet of wheat products and cheeses. But my pedometer clocks 19,000 steps or more every day between walking and biking. Now that's la dolce vita for you!
